Do you know how you will walk around your favorite store and eyeing that one item you really want? Then you look at the price and say, “Yikes”!!
Yeah! Me too.
Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores and when I saw this photo frame I knew I could make it wayyy cheaper. So, I just kept on walking.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS PROJECT:
- Photo Frame
- Mini Clips
- Glitter, Glue & Paint (I’m serious…lol)
I happened to have kept walking around the store and came across this frame in the clearance section. It didn’t have a glass in it but it was OK, I had plans…Big plans!!
To start you will want to measure your fabric about a 1/2″ longer then the back board of your frame. I do this so I can pull it tight when I pop it in the frame.
Once you measure and cut your fabric, tape off for the chevron design. Or maybe you would like to do something else.
Then you will want to paint the fabric with a roller and make sure you barely have any paint on it to give it a soft look. I just used craft paint and it worked perfectly.
One coat rolled on lightly did the trick.
There is no dry time, once you roll it on, you are all set to put it into your frame.
My frame is about 28 x 32 so it’s quite large. When you cut your canvas pieces you want to make them bigger then your photos and your quote.
After you have everything cut, just fray your ends a little bit and glue to your fabric. I use tacky glue because it goes on with a brush and dries clear.
I stenciled my quote and painted it with craft paint and sparkled up the heart with Paint Couture Glass Glitter. There is endless ideas you can come up with to make the picture frame your masterpiece.
Mix a little Mod Podge with your paint if you want to add any kind of glitter.
I used teeny time clips and hot glued them to the burlap for my photos. The reason I used clips is so I can change out the photos easily whenever I want.
Your Hobby Lobby Photo Frame Hack is complete. Except once I was done I was not caring for the color of the frame with my room decor.
A coat of Paint Couture Ivory and lacquer took care of that and brightened up the photo frame on my wall.
And, that’s it now you have a gorgeous piece of art on your wall with a personal message.
PIN THIS IMAGE FOR LATER!
I hope you were inspired to make your own Hobby Lobby Picture Frame Hack.
