Have you just woke up one day and realized your style changed? Or realized your style didn’t match your home?
Yeah! Me too. Especially when you use to have crystal and now you have deer heads. But, no matter what your style is GLITTER always makes it better.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS PROJECT:
I’ve been house cleaning and donating a lot of things around here lately. Including a lot of my glass decor. This is when I realized I was definitely on glass overload and needed some color in my life.
So this vase is one of the few pieces I did keep.
Sorry, I didn’t take a before pic of the vase. This project was soooo last minute. You know when you get that idea in your head and just run with it.
That’s exactly what I did, so I guess we will get started.
I taped a pattern on the vase using frog-tape. And, since I was playing with glitter I didn’t want it all over the garage floor. I covered an old cookie sheet with wax paper, it’s the perfect idea to collect the extra glitter.
Now I was ready to get started.
I used Paint Couture in the color “Sea Glass” and poured some in a small plastic cup with some mod podge and stirred until it was mixed well.
Once the paint and mod podge are all mixed well I began to paint my vase. I did just one coat making sure my vase was covered evenly.
If you do this you will want to work on one small section at a time.
Once I covered an area it was time to sprinkle the glitter on it. Since I was working with glass glitter (real glass) I used wax paper and lightly pressed the glitter into the paint. When you do this do it gently as to not smudge anything. You just want to make sure the glitter is pressed in the paint well.
I repeated the same process on the rest of my piece and then removed the tape (carefully) and let it dry.
Now you have a gorgeous DIY Painted Glittered Glass piece, no matter what your decor style is. And, in my case I have a gorgeous DIY Painted Glittered Vase.
